Paul Victor Sandberg 1942-2001

paulPaul was an active participant in SWSRA since it began.
He attended weekly programs such as golf, bowling and social club and went on special events throughout the year.  Most of all he had fun and laughed a lot.

Paul’s participation greatly enhanced his life socially and emotionally, helped him grow in many ways, but most of all it made him happy!  He looked forward to all the activities as he enjoyed being with everyone so much.  Paul was especially fond of the many caring and dedicated staff members and volunteers who assisted with the programs.  He spoke of them often.

As Paul’s sister and guardian, I will always be deeply grateful to SWSRA, their Board, Administration and Staff for providing a high quality recreation program for Paul and others.  We would therefore like to set up a scholarship in Paul’s memory.  We know this would make him very happy!

Marilyn Summers Memorial Fund

marilynOn October 12, 2008, the world lost a very special lady, Marilyn Summers. She lost her battle with cancer after a brave fight. Marilyn worked at SWSRA for 20 years as our Office Manager and retired in 2001. She dedicated her entire life to her family, her church and to serving others in need. She was a true advocate for individuals with disabilities. She will always be remembered by all who were blessed to know Marilyn. Her family set up a SWSRA Marilyn Summers Memorial Fund through SWSRA. If you would like to make a donation to SWSRA in her memory, you can send a check payable to us at SWSRA and indicate that it’s for the SWSRA Marilyn Summers Memorial Fund. All Proceeds will go directly into our scholarship fund.
